FrameMaker news
Adobe has released frame maker - `The official word processor
of the DEMO lab' for linux, in version 5 - beta.
It's free but expires on 12/31/2000. I don't know what's going
to happen afterwards.
In my quick testing I found
- It's a lot faster than maker4 on the sgis
- It does read my maker4 documents
- It displays tiff in nice color
- It doesn't display eps (as maker4/sgi does on sgi screens only)
But it does display epsi previews, plus tiff previews (generated
by print -tiff -depsc on matlab) which look quite nice.
- It doesn't import/export msword, although according to the
manual it does. So the filter might be out there somewhere.
Here's how you can use it -
1. Get a License for yourself
2. Install your license
